【Hatsuhinode Ride on 1st Jan 2025 from 6:30am】
In Japanese New Years, there is a tradition of watching the first sunrise of the year, known as Hatsuhinode.
This practice is said to have started during the Meiji period to pray for a good year.
- People pray to the Toshigami deity to wish for a bountiful harvest and happiness in the coming year.
- They also hope for good fortune and health in the new year.
- This tradition originates from mountain worship, which reflects respect for nature.
